Mauritius

Mauritius lies in the crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean, around 700 miles east of Madagascar and 1000 miles south of the Seychelles. Famed for its stunning pristine white beaches, the island has so much more to offer the visitor, from green mountain peaks to historic and cultural sights and world class sport and activities. The island’s capital is Port Louis which features colonial era architecture and bustling markets. To the north lies Grand Baie with its shopping and nightlife while the south offers the island’s highest mountain, Black River peak, and rugged coastline. Mauritius has a cosmopolitan ambiance, drawn from a melting pot of cultures, mainly Creole, Indian, French and Chinese, whose influences are reflected in the island’s superb cuisine.
