The Musandam Peninsula is an exclave on the northern part of Oman and is renowned for the stunning natural beauty of its fjord-like landscapes, small villages and the dramatic Hajar Mountains that rise about 2,000 metres above the coast. Jutting into the Strait of Hormuz and separated from the rest of the country by Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, it is just a 2-hour drive from Dubai. Musandam is often called “The Norway of the Middle East” because of its spectacular fjords and breathtaking mountain scenery.
